Warren Tribune Chronicle: New P-16 Model in Area
The local P-16 council, following examples set in Stark and elsewhere in the nation, is attempting to put pre-kindergarten through fourth-year college education into a more cohesive progression in Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties. Here are some specifics:
P-16 will make it easier for Pre-K instructors to talk to kindergarten teachers, for high school teachers to talk to college professors and for all educators to communicate with employers to constantly better prepare children for the next grade or job. A summit involving Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers is scheduled for April with the goal to identify ”What does ready for kindergarten mean?”
